Dr. Prem Shankar Dube has been with I.T. Banaras Hundu University from 1978 to 2007 at the Chemical Engg. Department. Incharge of central sophisticated instruments facility of the University having. Mass spectrometer MS50, ESR, Spectrometer, HPLC, Gas chromalymph, Refrigerated Ultra centrifuge , Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Elemental Analyser, TGA and Fluorescence spectrophotometer.

Teaching Experience : About 40 years for various Engineering subjects in the Departments of Chemical Engg, Ceramic Engg, Pharmacy & U. G. C. Academic Staff College at Banaras Hindu University.

Subjects Taught : Physico-Chemical Measurements Mass Spectrometry Instrumentation Engineering Process Dynamics & Control Engineering (Practicals and Theory both to Chemical Engineering students), Instrumentation and Control Engineering (Theory and Practical to Ceramic Engineering students) Unit Operations to Pharmacy students.

Administrative Experience : About 30 years. Handling all sorts of purchases related to Sophisticated Instrumentation , Examination and Co-ordination, opening of letter of credits, issuance of guarantees, Bank Operations related to foreign purchases and imports of sophisticated equipments. Securing services of foreign experts and engineers for servicing and maintenance contracts. Reserve Bank of India dealing for securing foreign exchange including CDE (Custom Duty Exemption Certificates) from Government of India. Audit conduction, and accounts control. Handling of maintenance contracts, installation and certification of sophisticated equipments. Dealing with developmental and planning activities also for various 5year plans and securing financial assistance from the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Human Resource and Development, All India for research and development projects.

Research Interest : Atmospheric Pollution, Control Instrumentation & Nanomaterials Synthesis.

Membership of Societies : Life member-Mass Spectrometry Society of India Life member - Indian Association for Environment Management.

Award : ‘NEW INNOVATOR AWARD’ by the Government of Uttar Pradesh 2000.

Honour: ‘DESH HITA SAMMAN 2000’ by Jagruk Yuva Samiti of Varanasi.

Achievement towards science popularization of Hindi in Science & Technology : Popular Science writing 50 publications Hindi Broadcasts (All India Radio) 25 in number Television Broadcasts on Pollution Control more than a dozen on various channels including Govt’s Doordarshan, BBC & eTV.

Research & Innovation of national Interest : Experiment of using 25 % Alcohol and gasoline on chrome cylinder fitted automobiles. The experiment cuts down use of petrol by 25 % and promotes use of renewable source/ alternative source of energy. Experiment carried for public demonstration in the presence of Minister of Science & Technology, Government of Uttar Pradesh at the Circuit House, Varanasi on July 26, 2003.
